What is the Star Wars Syndicate?
The Star Wars Syndicate, also known as the Alabama Star Wars Syndicate, is an organized fan club based in the U.S. state of Alabama. (see illustration below) The SWS was founded on Feburary 15, 2002 by Kevin. Our setup is to draw all of our area's active (casual and die-hard) Star Wars fans into a common fan club and to hold various events that our state's populace has collectively missed out on from the onset of Star Wars fandom. Want to know more? Visit the About section for more details on our club's roots and history!

:: Administrative-Level Officers ::

Why is the Syndicate organized state-wide, and not by individual cities?
To be frank, our state is pretty spread out, with a majority of our die-hard and casual fans living in rural areas. What benefit would organizing by city offer them? Not much. That is why we're organizing by state, and not city. We want everyone in 'bama, regardless of where they live, to have the opportunity to enjoy Star Wars to it's fullest! We've got folks from around the state, and the vast majority live outside of the four largest cities in Alabama: Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile.

Why is the Star Wars Syndicate not a FanForce?
FanForce is a term derived from the ever-popular mainstream website TheForce.Net. FanForce 'chapters' are TFN-sponsored clubs organized in major cities around the United States. The Syndicate is an independent state-wide fan club based in Alabama. Namely, the Syndicate does not meet the city-based requirement to be a FanForce, as we are state-wide. You can read the FanForce requirements here.

Minors have to sign a release waiver. Why?
In accordance with our Club Charter's Underage Member Policy, we require all persons under the age of 18 to sign a Minor Release Waiver. We want all Star Wars fans to participate - regardless of age, however, this document is necessary to free the adult-age members of the club from legal responsibilities/liabilities over minors at club meetings and events.

What upcoming events do you have planned?
As Yoda would say, aspect of our club is always in motion. Who knows? It's all up to our imaginations and our will to make it happen! You can check out our Upcoming Events Calendar section for more up-to-date info on Events! Also, we advise visiting the Event Planning Forum in the Syndicate's Message Forum.
